Audio : Crash Basket

Proud

Probably the best of the bunch. Certainly the most fun to play.

No Problem

My second favorite, although this confuses many people. Really cool how a song written in a whisper at 3am turns into something else entirely. A great (and rare) example of the joys of collaboration. The whiny feelings I thought I was writing about were replaced by the rage I actually felt.

Gravity

A really good song, always better live than here -- mostly because my vocals suck on the cd, and I managed not to notice the guitar going in and out of tune. Turns out the neck joint was seriously messed up. Much better now, thanks.

I'm So Alternative

Meanness and spite can be fun. Maybe someday i'll annotate this one; roughly every line has a specific poseur target.

Never Learned To Dance

Funny 'cause it's true. Man, did this become amazing live.

Closer

My biggest disappointment -- this was many people's favorite song. This is just not the way to do it. It had a long and happy history as a solo acoustic thing, Crash Basket killed with it live, then we re-arranged it and it lost something. And again -- and the main problem, here -- my voice was in shreds. I'm going to try to get a decent copy of the "Pete's New Shoes" cassette version. Stomps all over this.

Dear Miserable

Nice, kind of a throwaway. Lots of fun to play, though.

La Alma De Roberto

The rehearsal space next to ours was shared by "Bob" and "Dore Soul". We pay ... ummm ... homage to both of their styles in this. Hence "Roberto" and "Alma". The joke song that wouldn't die.

Nobody's Bleeding

This one's from our first dis... uh, albu... ok, tape. "Pete's New Shoes", if you must know. Weren't we discussing "meanness and spite" earlier? Boy, was this a rough day. Production's a bit dated, but I always really liked this one. Pretty proud of the lyrics, in particular.
